Why establish an ICRN organisation you may ask?

Most countries around the globe have a respiratory organisation or association for nurses. As each country has different health policies, regulations, and education systems for respiratory nurses, it is crucial that representatives of these respiratory organisations from each country are included in the International Collation of Respiratory Nurses (ICRN).

The ICRN  will advocate and promote evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare solutions to ensure that people living with respiratory conditions have a significant reduction in the need for unscheduled care and consequently hospitalization. To achieve this goal, we will work collaboratively to strengthen and raise the level of education of respiratory nurses so that they can guide and provide support to people living with respiratory conditions.

The International Coalition of Respiratory Nurses hosted our first inaugural webinar on the 30th June 2025. Our president Andreja Šajnić introduced our speakers and panellist’s.

We welcomed an international audience from around the globe to hear Dr Abdul Kebir Sabil present about the Importance of differentiation between Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Central Sleep Apnoea and to hear from our expert panellist's Iain Wheatley - Nurse Consultant in Sleep Medicine and home non invasive ventilation at Frimley park hospital in the UK and Sharon Stothart - Lead Respiratory Nurse and Sleep Medicine Lead from Sunderland Infirmary in the UK on best practice in the UK.

If you missed our inaugural webinar the recording is here for you to watch. It will be of interest to all Respiratory Nurses and other clinicians working in the Sleep medicine field.
